Treatment-Related Mortality in Children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at a Tertiary Care Hospital of Multan

Background: The present study aimed to assess the frequency of treatment related mortality (TRM) among all ALL mortalities recorded in paediatric ward. Methods: A cross-sectional was undertaken at Department Pediatric, Children’s Hospital and Institute Child Health, Multan, Pakistan between January 2021 June 2022. enrolled children under age 18 years who were diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Data individuals died secondary a relapsing or progressive disease those had not yet started chemotherapy excluded. main focus measure TRM. All data collected pre-defined pro forma. Results: total 205 deaths patients reported during study. Of these, 120 (58.54%) cases associated most common type immunophenotype B-cell 100 patients. Majority suffered from TRM induction phase i.e. 69 (57.50%). cause sepsis (83.33%) cases. second haemorrhagic complications. Conclusion: results indicated that significant contributor failure this population.
